J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race

Round the Island Race

This race is Britain’s favourite sailing race and this year it is celebrating it's 80 birthday. Organised by the Island Sailing Club, the J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race is a one-day race around the Isle of Wight, an island situated on the south coast of England. The race regularly attracts over 1500 boats and around 16'000 sailors making it one of the largest yacht races in the world and the fourth largest participation sporting event in the UK after the London Marathon and the Great North and South Runs.

The race starts from the famous Royal Yacht Squadron Line in Cowes and the fleet races westabout to the Needles, round St Catherines Point and Bembridge and back into the Solent to the finish line in Cowes.

The race is unique as it pits world-renowned sailor's race against families and first time racers. This year Dee will be sailing onboard Artemis 2, an IMOCA Open 60, with the charity Toe In The Water and some of the Walking with the Wounded team.

Speaking about the upcoming event, Dee said:

"I am really looking forward to sailing with these hugely inspirational guys and also having the chance to sail on a different boat. The J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race is a fantastic event and I love seeing so many boats out on the water taking part."
